about
This tune was recorded in the dining room of our 1920's cottage on our little Spinet-style piano. Much like our most recent single, 'I Remember (how it all went down)', it was written a few years ago, but was never released. We really dug into the raw, lo-fi-ness of this track...the wood floor holding the sounds of the piano, the high ceilings holding the sound of my voice, the analog giving it all space.
lyrics
Sends Valentines
Can you buy me drink
Can you buy a bottle
Can you buy a little time to make up my mind
Cause you've had all the time to find your reasons
And I've just been too stupid before now
You turn away now
Say goodbye like you mean it
You're cold, you're cavalier, you're doing fine
You only break once or twice if I'm not around
And I only break once or twice if I'm still
February's colder when you're lonely
Remember, February's colder when you're lonely
Everyone loves you, feels bad for you, worries about you,
Sends Valentines
They think because I'm the one who left, because I'm the one who left
This pain is not mine
Well give me a break if I seem a little angry
Give me reason to keep my mouth shut
Cause you've had all the time, it's always been about you
And I've just been so stupid before now
February's colder when you're lonely
Remember, February's colder when you're lonely
It seems everything feels older when you're lonely
When you're lonely everything feels so much older
When you're lonely
Well, I'm lonely
I'm lonely
But if you buy me a drink, I might
If you buy me drink,
I'll forget the whole thing

Gathering raw energy like lightning rods in an electrical storm, the music of Willow & Wood is a kind of folk-noir that's as
eerie as it is soothing.
"Willow & Wood are a hypnotic duo that get high marks for the melodic sensibilities, melancholy notes, and genuine folk Americana style. Imagery that gets under your skin. “Kindling For a Fire” is wickedly haunting and beautiful beyond description”...more
